More innovative than ever – that's BYK-Chemie at the Nuremberg European Coatings Show (Hall 4, Booth 311) to be held from April 26 to 28, 2005. Around twelve new products have been added to the program of the Wesel company. The range extends from new wetting and dispersing additives like DISPERBYK®-145, via BYK®-425 as a new rheological additive with greatly improved properties, down to other products from the nanotechnology-based NANOBYK series.

The focus is also on additives for aqueous systems, such as the new wetting and dispersing additive DISPERBYK®-194 for aqueous 2K – PU and epoxy systems.

Under the title "New markets, new chances" BYK-Chemie will be supporting the "India Reception" to be held on April 26 at the European Coatings Show, underlining its commitment to the Indian market. This year will also witness the opening of the German company's first application technology laboratory in Pune.

"In doing this, we are taking into account the growing demand for additives and an increased customer need for local technical support," states Detlev Lindner, Head of the Business Line Coatings Additives.

BYK-Chemie is one of the world's leading suppliers of additives used in the coatings, inks, and plastics industry.

Approximately 85 % of our sales are generated by exports. Our major export markets are Europe, the United States and the Far East.

Chemical additives are used by processing industries in the production of coatings, inks, and plastics. In very small quantities, BYK additives simplify manufacturing processes, and significantly improve the quality of finished goods, such as motor vehicles and furniture.

BYK-Chemie is a member of ALTANA Chemie AG, Wesel. ALTANA Chemie develops and produces high quality, innovative products in the sector of specialty chemicals.

BYK-Chemie has been producing additives since 1962 in Wesel. Today it employs nearly 900 people worldwide, 25 % of whom work in research and development departments or technical laboratories.
