In the First Half-year Empils Increased Paint Production by 14.3% and Zinc oxide by 6.9%

The results of Empils's work during the first half-year of 2005 were summed up. During six months the production volume (the commodity output, not taking into account semi manufactured varnish for internal consumption) made up 47 391 t of paint and varnish: ZAO Empils (Russia, Rostov-on-Don) - 42 352 t and OAO Elaks - (Ukraine, Odessa) - 5 039 t. In comparison with the similar period in 2004 Empils increased paint and varnish output by 14.3%.

This year Empils consolidated its leading position in the decorative coatings market in Russia and in the CIS countries. The most significant quality development was in the markets of the countries of Central Asia, where 21% of Empils' products are sold now, and also in Ukraine and Moldova - 12% of the total concern's output.

All main concern's brands gained weight significantly; their promotion was accompanied by ATL ? BTL actions. The Oreol products sale increased by 12%, and of Rastsvet trade mark - by 27%. It is noteworthy, that in Russia the emphasis was placed on the product of sub premium segment (Oreol), and in the CIS countries, where standard of life is fairly lower than in Russia, on paint and varnish of mass market segment (Rastsvet).

In the first half year the production of zinc oxide (zinc white), raw material for tire, mechanical rubber and cable industries, was 7 892 t; in comparison with six months of 2004 the product output increased by 6.9 %. The result of zinc white production was achieved by consumer size growth and expansion into new markets. In the first half year Empils began to deliver zinc oxide to Polish and German plants.
