ATLANTA -- Imerys North American Performance Minerals
announced a price increase across its entire kaolin product portfolio.
The increase is effective October 1, 2005, or as current price agreements
expire. Kaolin prices will increase to a maximum of 15% per pound dependant
upon the product grade, volume, and form.
Imerys strives to improve its efficiencies in an effort
to maintain cost competitive products and services. Dramatic and unrelenting
escalation in energy, transportation, labor, benefits, insurance and other
costs have outpaced these efforts.
Imerys, a global leader in adding value to minerals,
is the world's leading producer of white industrial performance minerals.
The Performance Minerals Division's portfolio of kaolin
products are used in a wide variety of demanding, industrial applications
such as paints, polymers, rubber, ceramics, adhesives, caulks, sealants
and pharmaceuticals.
