Imerys North American Performance Minerals has announced a price increase on its Kaolin products, effective October 15, 2004, or as current price agreements expire.

Depending on the product grade, volume and form, the price will increase by a maximum of $0.02 per pound.

According to Daniel J. Moncino, Vice-President and General Manager of Imerys' North American Performance Minerals Division, Imerys is committed to improve the efficiency to maintain cost competitive products and services. Unfortunately, these efforts are hindered due to the increases in labor, energy, benefits, insurance and other miscellaneous costs.

IMERYS is a leading international supplier of high-performance minerals to the polymer and coatings markets.

Drawing on a wide range of minerals with many matching characteristics - including precipitated calcium carbonates, ground calcium carbonates, and kaolins, - Imerys Performance Minerals makes technical products that are essential for many industries.
