Goodlass Nerolac Bags National Energy Conservation Award 2005

MUMBAI, India -- Goodlass Nerolac Paints Limited (GNPL), one of the largest paint companies in the country received the National Conservation Energy Award 2005 for its Jainpur (Kanpur - Dehat) plant. The company has won the first prize in the paint & allied product industry sector in recognition of the company's outstanding achievements and contribution in the field of energy conservation and management.

Mr. H M Bharuka, Managing Director, GNPL received the award from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of India on December 14, 2005, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The Ministry of Power, Government of India, constitutes the award.

This is the first time that paint industries have been included in the award process and it is a matter of immense pride that GNPL, Jainpur plant won the first prize in this category.60 companies were selected for the award in different categories.

Commenting on the achievement Mr. H M Bharuka, Managing Director, Goodlass Nerolac said, "At Goodlass Nerolac, we are always concerned about the environmental impacts and are consciously making immense efforts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy and other resuorces. We are proud to be announced as the winner; since for the first time the paint industry has been included for this award.
