Eastman Announces Price Increase for Polyester Powder Resins

KINGSPORT, Tenn., March 11, 2003 - Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE:EMN) has announced a price increase for its ALBESTER polyester powder resin products. Prices for these products will increase from $0.05 to $0.08 per pound effective April 1, 2003. Customers are being contacted regarding specific price increases for specific products they purchase.

The company said the price increases for these products are due to escalating costs for raw material feed stocks used to manufacture powder coatings resins.

Eastman's ALBESTER polyester powder resins are used in general metal, machinery and equipment, metal office furniture, appliance, automotive, and architectural metal market applications.
