DuPont Titanium Technologies Announces a Price Increase for Ti-Pure® Titanium Dioxide Products Sold in Asia

Published on 2008-08-27. Author : SpecialChem

SINGAPORE -- DuPont Titanium Technologies has announced a price increase for all DuPont™ Ti-Pure® titanium dioxide grades sold in the Asia Pacific region.

Effective Sept. 15, or as permitted by contract, prices for all titanium dioxide grades (TiO2) will increase $200 (USD) per ton in Asia, except the People's Republic of China and Japan. Effective Sept. 15, or as permitted by contract, prices in China will increase by 2.0RMB/kg. This increase is in addition to those announced in June.

"Demand for TiO2 remains strong. Higher raw material, energy and transportation costs continue to impact our manufacturing expenditures," said Ian Edwards, global business director -- DuPont Titanium Technologies. "Energy efficiency and productivity initiatives have offset some of this impact, but this price increase is necessary for continued investment in global fulfillment, quality offerings and value to customers."
