DuPont Presence in Korea

Published on 2008-01-07. Author : SpecialChem

DuPont started business in Korea 30 years ago. Now more than 420 employees help generate sales revenue of about USD 600 million. DuPont Korea's headquarters and Technology Center are located in Seoul, with four operations located elsewhere in the country. With more than USD 230 million in investments, DuPont Korea has four manufacturing and processing sites:

  • Ulsan - for DuPont products including Butacite®, Zytel®, Minlon®, Crastin®, Ti-Pure® slurry and Corian®
  • Hwasung - for DuPont™ Hybrid Membrane Technology (HMT)
  • Ichon -- for Fodel® Rework
  • Gumi - for the SD Flex Co. joint venture

DuPont Korea opened its R&D center in Seoul to collaborate with customers, particularly on displays and nanotechnology. There are several customer service labs in the country, including the Ti-Pure® Technical Lab and Butacite® Technical Lab in Ulsan, and the DuPont Performance Coatings Training Center in Ichon.

To achieve top line growth, DuPont Korea implemented a "stretch project" for additional revenue growth beyond its profit objective. This included a distributor management program and a program for the electronics, automotive and construction industries. DuPont Korea also has an effective organizational "buddy system" to help maintain its record in complying with our core values.
