DuPont Hosts 'Magical' Event for Champion Jobbers

DuPont Performance Coatings (DPC) recently held a business conference in Orlando, Fla., for their champion jobbers in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam. The event's theme, "You Lead... Magic Follows," was inspired by DPC guiding principles and reinforced by the leadership philosophies of Walt Disney. The meeting was supported by the Disney's theme, "You Lead... The meeting was supported by the Disney® Event Group who constructed an environment similar to their central paint shop, complete with a display of numerous Disney® props, scenic pieces and equipment, all of which were painted with DPC products.

During the awards dinner, recipients of the Joe Jackson Industry Champion award, peer group awards and performance awards were honored. Twenty winners were awarded in the peer group category for jobbers with the best percentage and dollar performance within their peer group. Four performance award winners were recognized for highest overall dollar and percentage growth from 2005 - 2009. The two Joe Jackson Champion award winners were Tiffiny Taylor and Daniel-Gérard Rouzier. In addition to the Joe Jackson award, a contribution will be made in the winners' names to a charity of their choice.

Making a surprise appearance, Jeff Gordon congratulated award winners in a private meet-and-greet session, addressed conference attendees and participated in a lively question and answer session with Harry Hall, North America sales manager, DPC Refinish.

"We felt it was appropriate to have a four-time champion help us convey our message of the importance of preparing to win," Harry said.

Then, respected Walt Disney World Resort operational leader Lee Cockerell spoke to attendees about his frontline experiences, leadership strategies used to successfully manage an organization of more than 40,000 employees and 12 leadership strategies to inspire organizations to attain their desired business results.
