Dow Reichhold Announces Price Increase for Latexes Sold in North America

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina -- Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex has announced price increases for its line of specialty latexes sold in North America. Effective February 1, 2005, prices will be increased from $0.02 to $0.04 per wet pound, depending on latex chemistry. The company cited the continuing increases in raw material and energy costs as the principal reason for the price increase. These increases are in addition to all previously announced increases.

Specific products include styrene butadiene, acrylic, styrene acrylic and acrylonitrile latexes used in construction products and high performance fiber coating and bonding applications.

Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex LLC is a 50/50 joint venture of The Dow Chemical Company and Reichhold, Inc., a subsidiary of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals. The joint venture is the world's largest producer of specialty latex. The company is headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, U.S.A.
