Dow Raises Price of TONE™ Products in North America

Published on 2004-09-20. Author : SpecialChem

Peroxymeric Chemicals, a business unit of Epoxy Products and Intermediates of The Dow Chemical Company, is increasing list and off-list prices for all TONE™ caprolactone-based products (monomers, polyols and polymers) by $0.07 per pound. The increases are effective October 15, 2004, or as contract terms permit.

"Relentless increases in feedstock costs have squeezed margins below reinvestment levels," explains Mark Siebert, business director for Peroxymeric Chemicals. "In particular, benzene, the key raw material for our TONE products, has reached historically high levels and we do not see any immediate relief in sight. Other costs have also increased substantially. Only through regular adjustment of our prices to recover these costs will we have the ability to meet our customers' needs long-term."

Customers interested in learning more about the price increase should contact their local Dow sales representative.
Dow offers a comprehensive line of TONE caprolactone products including di- and tri-functional polyols, specialty (meth)acrylated monomers, linear low-melting crystalline homopolymers and epsilon-caprolactone monomer.
