Dow Announces Price Increases for Quat 188 Cationic Reagent Effective November 1, 2004

Published on 2004-10-04. Author : SpecialChem

The Dow Chemical Company announces a $0.06/lb. North American price increase for QUAT 188 cationic reagent. The increase will be effective November 1, 2004 or as permitted by contracts.

Although Dow continues to pursue cost reduction and productivity improvement programs, these measures are not sufficient to compensate for dramatic cost increases for key raw materials, energy, and transportation. Dow's QUAT business is taking this pricing action to restore margins which are essential to ensuring long term product supply to our customers. Customers interested in learning more about the price increases should contact their local Dow sales representatives.

Dow's QUAT 188 business is a North American leader in the production and sale of cationic reagent.

Dow is a leader in science and technology, providing innovative chemical, plastic and agricultural products and services to many essential consumer markets. With annual sales of $33 billion, Dow serves customers in more than 180 countries and a wide range of markets that are vital to human progress, including food, transportation, health and medicine, personal and home care, and building and construction, among others. Committed to the principles of sustainable development, Dow and its approximately 46,000 employees seek to balance economic, environmental and social responsibilities.
