Doni Riddle Takes Over as President of SSPC

Pittsburgh, PA -- SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings announced that Doni Riddle, Vice President & Director of Industrial & Marine Marketing for The Sherwin-Williams Company officially took over as the President of the SSPC Board of Governors on July 1, 2007. Mr. Riddle follows Danny McDowell whose term as President ended on June 30, 2007.

Mr. Riddle was first elected to the Board in 2003 and has more than two decades of sales, marketing and management experience, including a 18-year tenure with North America's largest manufacturer and retailer of paints and coatings. He began his career with Sherwin-Williams as a Corrosion Specification Specialist before moving on to positions as an Industrial & Marine Sales Manager and Director of Industrial & Marine Marketing for the South Western Division. In his current position, he is responsible for directing strategic marketing initiatives for the industrial and marine coatings segment within the Company's Paint Stores Group, which provides products and services for markets that include bridge and highway; food and beverage; marine and offshore; petrochemical; steel fabrication; water and wastewater; and industrial flooring, among others.

Mr. Riddle is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, and is a NACE-certified coatings inspector. In addition to serving on the board for SSPC, he is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). His term as President will last until June 30, 2008.

Other changes among the SSPC Board officers effective July 1 include Danny J. McDowell becoming Immediate Past President, J. Bruce Henley becoming President-Elect, and Steven P. Roetter, P.E. becoming Vice President. Carl Angeloff, P.E. was also retained on the Board as an Ex-Officio member to continue to assist SSPC's efforts in Asia.

In other SSPC Board news, Stephen P. Collins of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. was elected by SSPC members to fill the vacant position created by the expiring term of Carl Angeloff, P.E of Bayer MaterialScience. Mr. Collins has been the Global Painting Coordinator for Air Products since 1999, and has been with the company for 24 years. His experience includes working with national painting contractors and other customers on specifications, coatings, safety, inspection, training, suppliers, and more. He has been actively involved in SSPC for many years and also is a NACE level 2 coatings inspector. Mr. Collins' experience will be a great asset to SSPC as it continues its efforts to enter emerging markets around the globe.
