Degussa Increases Prices for Pigment Carbon Blacks Effective November 1st, 2005

Due to dramatically increasing production costs Degussa's Business Unit Advanced Fillers & Pigments will raise its prices for Pigment Blacks and Pigment Black Preparations produced in Europe by 8%. The price increase will be effective by November 1st, 2005. Degussa is worldwide the second largest producer of Pigment Carbon Blacks (Furnace Carbon Black, Lamp Black, Gas Black).

The Advanced Fillers & Pigments business unit operates 30 plants in 18 countries and is the only one manufacturing and supplying carbon blacks (rubber and pigment blacks), performance silica, and rubber silanes from one single source. As a specialist in surface chemistry and physics, it focuses on the production and application of carbon blacks, performance silica, matting agents, functional organosilanes, and blue pigments.
