Dürr Honored by General Motors as 2004 Supplier of the Year

Stuttgart -- Dürr AG has received the prestigious Supplier of the Year Award from General Motors (GM) for the fifth time. The world's largest automobile manufacturer has thus honored Dürr's outstanding performance in handling several major projects for GM, including the construction of three paint shops in North America and the technology introduction for the first waterbased painted car in China. The award was given at the General Motors Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan.

"Our Supplier of the Year winners are the Best of the Best and Dürr is part of this elite group based on their outstanding performance in 2004," said Bo Andersson, Vice President, GM Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. "Its balanced focus on performance and behavior support GM's priorities, and make it a role model for suppliers worldwide."

"Credit for winning the GM award again goes to our employees. In numerous individual projects, they have given their all to support GM with innovative and efficient production technology," emphasized Dürr AG CEO Stephan Rojahn at the award ceremony. Tom Guise, President of the Paint Systems Automotive Business Unit in the United States, said, "Worldwide, cooperation between GM and Dürr is shaped by mutual trust and close networking. We are proud of our performance for GM in 2004 and will keep it going in future years."

Dürr AG Corporate The GM Supplier of the Year Award began as a global program in 1992. Winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 78 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2004.

The Dürr Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of production systems and of modules and components in the area of measurement and process technology. The company focuses primarily on the automobile and aviation industries as well as the mining and basic materials industries. Dürr achieved sales of € 1.9 billion in 2004 with about 7,300 employees.
