Cytec Surface Specialties Increases Price of Radiation Curable Monomers and Resins in Europe

Published on 2005-03-07. Author : SpecialChem

Cytec Surface Specialties has announced that it will increase prices of all its radiation curable products in Europe, effective April 1st, 2005 or as contracts permit.

The price increase for monomers will be between six and nine percent; for epoxy acrylates it will be between eight and 12 %; and for all other radiation curable products it will be between three and five percent. In each case the rise will be dependant on grades.

The company says it has limited and postponed the new price increases as much as possible but that these adjustments have been made necessary by continuous rapid and dramatic changes during the first quarter of 2005 in the cost and availability of almost all raw materials used in radiation curable resins, such as acrylic acid, epoxy resins and polyols. These increases are primarily due to an unfavourable supply/demand balance which is not going to be resolved in the short-term for most key raw materials.

The company says that it is putting every effort into securing sufficient supplies to meet growing demand for their radiation curable products.
