Clariant's Pigments & Additives Division Announces Price Increases

Muttenz, Switzerland -- In response to rising costs of raw materials, energy, and logistics, the Pigments & Additives Division of Clariant has announced global price increases for several of its products, effective October 1, 2006.

The Pigments & Additives Division of Clariant provides a wide range of high-quality organic pigments, pigment preparations, dyes, and additives for industrial and automotive coatings, paints, printing inks, plastics, and specialized applications, such as cosmetics, detergents, and agro. The company continuously adds new products as a result of extensive research and development. Maintaining this extensive portfolio, as well as the high level of quality, service and innovation for which the company is known, cannot be sustained without increasing the prices of several products.

The pricing policy at Clariant is determined by the senior management in coordination with all relevant functions of the corporation. Pricing is under constant review in response to market changes.
