Ciba Specialty Chemicals Launches Advanced Color Matching Solutions

Ciba has launched a new color matching solution for inks, paints and plastics. Ciba® COLIBRI™ QuickMatch Pro is designed for matching effect shades as well as printing inks on metallized surfaces.

"Following the success of COLIBRI color matching solutions, we have developed further color services that enable our customers to move into new application areas and to add value in existing ones," says Hermann Angerer, Global Head of Ciba' Coating Effects Segment.

COLIBRI QuickMatch Pro allows matching of metallic colors and shades for inks to be printed on metallic surfaces without the use of a multi-angle spectrophotometer. Conventional shades can also be matched and COLIBRI QuickMatch Pro features several new elements in addition to all the advantages of the standard version. It provides the option of working with a more complex mathematical model for color matching effect shades and for improved accuracy with conventional shades.

Ciba® COLIBRI™ QuickMatch and Ciba® COLIBRI™ QualityControl systems have been expanded to incorporate new functionalities. All COLIBRI QuickMatch systems are now available in multi-user as well as single- user versions. The multi-user versions allow several users on a network to work either with their local database or with a central database on a server, greatly facilitating data exchange between plants.
