BMW Sauber Relies On Standox

Published on 2008-10-22. Author : SpecialChem

BMW Sauber F1 Team, the renowned Formula One racing team, relies on Standox. All BMW Formula One cars are exclusively painted in paints from the Wuppertal-based manufacturer. Paint materials are delivered through the company's Swiss general importer, Andrè Koch AG in Urdorf near Zurich.

The carbon parts are first primed using Standox VOC Nonstop Primer Filler White. High-quality Standox topcoats are then used to paint the parts in white, blue and red, the trademark colours of the BMW Sauber F1 Team. Smaller parts and the chassis are coated with Standocryl VOC Topcoat. The coating system is easy to use and gives excellent flow, perfect gloss and short drying times.

"We are proud that the BMW Sauber F1 Team has chosen our high-quality product systems and that DuPont is an Official Supplier of the BMW Sauber F1 Team. Motorsport makes high demands on weight savings, durability under different climatic conditions and brilliant colours which look good on TV," says Standox Brand Manager Dr. Julio Salcedas.

Standox, a member of DuPont Performance Coatings, is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of automotive refinishing paints. With its headquarters in Wuppertal, Germany, the company offers innovative and environmentally compatible product systems worldwide.
