BASF to Increase Prices for Amine Intermediates

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Effective March 1, 2005, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise prices for the following amine intermediates in the United States as follows:

Morpholine
+$0.07 per pound on off-list and list prices
Cyclohexylamine (CHA)
+$0.10 per pound on off-list prices
tertiary-Butylamine (tBA)
+$0.05 per pound on off-list prices

Effective March 15, 2005, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise its off-list price for Dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) in the United States by $0.10 per pound.

Amine intermediates are used in the manufacture of coatings, pharmaceuticals, surfactants, dyes, adhesives, polyurethanes, rubber and water treatment chemicals.
