BARCELONA -- The International Bodyshop Industry Symposium (IBIS) is one of the most important networking events in the automotive refinishing industry. BASF Coatings supports IBIS 2011 and will be presenting its products and services to the industry at the Symposium in Barcelona, where leading industry representatives from around the world will come together between May 16 -18 for the 11th annual IBIS event. Attendees include principal industry suppliers and manufacturers, bodyshops, automotive insurance companies, as well as decision-makers from the automotive industry.

BASF Coatings will be presenting itself at a booth and has a good reason for sponsoring the symposium, said Harald Pflanzl, head of BASF Coatings' Automotive Refinish Business Unit: "IBIS offers us an excellent opportunity for personal exchange with partners and customers. In addition, we can present our products, our services and our solutions for the future." At this year's IBIS, over 300 visitors are expected.

The event organizers have selected "2020 Vision" as this year's theme, with the title referring to the changes taking place in the automotive refinishing industry. They predict unprecedented innovations during the next five to ten years. "We think that the accident repair market will become more efficient, more environmentally friendly and more customer-oriented," Pflanzl said. "We are working on these topics in cooperation with our customers. To this end, IBIS serves as an excellent information platform."
