SÃO PAULO -- Award for BASF in South America: General Motors has named the company the 2010 regional Supplier of the Year. The award recognizes BASF for its outstanding performance as a supplier of OEM coatings to General Motors.

The award is based on the same criteria used by GM for its global suppliers: quality, service, technology and price.

Antonio Lacerda, BASF's Senior Vice President in South America stated, "We are honored to be part of this select group of top GM suppliers. The award reinforces our partnership, which has already been in place for many years and is based on joint efforts to achieve mutual success."

The award in South America follows the award as GM's best global coatings supplier given early this year. For Joseph Anthony Minitti, head of the OEM Coatings business unit in South America, the regional award is a great distinction. "We can be very proud of this award. It highlights the excellent work we perform with GM."
