BASF Imposes a Surcharge on Bismuth Vanadate Pigments

Published on 2005-06-21. Author : SpecialChem

BASF will impose a surcharge of up to 8 €/kg on all sales of bismuth vanadate pigments world-wide with effect from July 1, 2005, provided this is allowed under existing contracts. The surcharge also applies to pigment preparations that contain bismuth vanadate. This has been made necessary by the continuing large increase in the price of vanadium, one of the main raw materials.

Bismuth vanadate pigments are employed in the plastics, coatings and printing inks industries.
