Ameron Announces Appointment to Board of Directors

PASADENA, Calif. -- Ameron International Corporation (NYSE:AMN - News) announced the appointment of William D. Horsfall to the Company's Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2006. The appointment of Mr. Horsfall increases the number of directors on its Board of Directors to seven.

Mr. Horsfall has also been appointed to the Company's Audit Committee. William D. Horsfall is a founder, along with Robert Lucas of the firm, of Lucas, Horsfall, Murphy and Pindroh, LLP (LHMP). LHMP, which is headquartered in Pasadena, California, specializes in accounting services and business consulting. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree and is a certified public accountant.

James S. Marlen, Ameron's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Mr. Horsfall brings to our Board an extensive range of financial and business skills, and we look forward to his expertise and contributions to the continuing success of our Company."
