Capacity Expansionallnex has announced an expansion project in North Augusta, South Carolina that will provide a new oligomer reactor train to support the growth of the Radcure business.

New Reactor Train

The new reactor train will produce polyester acrylates (PEA) chemistry which is primarily used in the graphic arts, food packaging and industrial coatings segments, as well as supporting other chemistries and market segments as intermediate material building blocks.

Currently, those market segments are growing on a global basis, and this additional capacity at the North Augusta site will benefit not only the local demands of North and South America, but will also be able to globally support the China, Asian and European markets as well.

“This addition in our polyester acrylate oligomer production is an integral piece of our growth plan in the Radcure business” says Tanya Niu, Business Director Radcure Americas.

“As the industry leader, allnex is fully committed to the needs of our customers: quality, supply optimization, cost performance, and new market trends. Coupled with the technology and innovation leadership in Radcure, this expansion in our capacity will provide a sustainable solution to the long term partnership we have in place with our clients.”

Investment Reinforces Flexibility & Efficiency of Manufacturing Footprint

“This investment reinforces the flexibility and efficiency of our global manufacturing footprint. We are committed to executing this important expansion with our continued focus on operational excellence, safety and on time delivery” added Bart Van Cleemput, Global Manufacturing Director for Radcure & Powders at allnex.

The expansion in North Augusta is well underway, and the site expects to be fully operational in early Summer of 2020.
