Expansion Planallnex will be expanding its largest Radcure monomer plant located in Schoonaarde, Belgium, to support the growth achieved in this technology, meet increasing global customer demand and further consolidate allnex’s leadership position globally.

Expansion to be Completed by Beginning of Q3 2020

The site’s expansion, due to start in Q2 2019, is expected to be completed by beginning of Q3 2020 and bring a 30% increase in annual production capacity with its brand new reactor.

The expansion project set to begin in Q2 2019 in Schoonaarde is of critical strategic importance to allnex’s growth not only in EMEA but other regions as well. The site’s experienced operational team combined with its high automation degree have enabled allnex to make monomer production in Schoonaarde quite efficiently.

Exciting Project for allnex

Claire-Sophie Bernet, EMEA Product Line Manager Base Resins at allnex, said: “This is an exciting project for us. On top of helping allnex’s strong growth in the global merchant market of Radcure monomers, this additional capacity will also support the growth of the allnex Radcure oligomers franchise, where monomers are key intermediates or diluting agents.”

“With this investment and our continued focus on operational excellence in our sites, we will be in a better position to accommodate the growth of our customers. The Project team is strongly committed to executing this important expansion in the best way, with respect to both safety and timeline”, added Bart Van Cleemput, Global Manufacturing Director for Radcure & Powders at allnex.

allnex targets to have the reactor up and running in July 2020 and it is expected to be running at full utilization in 2021 already.
