AkzoNobel Car Refinishes (ANCR) has agreed to the transfer of its European Railway Activity to Mäder Group, an independent manufacturer of highly technologic coatings and already a leader in railway coatings in Europe. The deal has been finalised on June 30th 2009.

ANCR's railway activities cover a wide number of European countries, but the company is especially prominent in Italy and Spain.

The agreement is between the Italian and Spanish subsidiary of ANCR, Italian branch (Isva-Mäder, a joint venture between Isva Vernici and Mäder group), and French branch (Soficor-Mäder) of Mäder group.

Activities will be included in Isva-Mäder for the business transferred from ANCR Italy and Soficor-Mäder for the business transferred from ANCR Spain.

With the transfer of ANCR's Railway activities, Mäder improves its leading position in railway coatings. In fact, Mäder will reinforce its organisation in Italy and will speed up its development in Spain, already in progress for two 2 years.

"We will be able to better answer to our European customers' requests for paint products as well as for composites?has declared Antonio Molina, Chairman of Mäder and of Isva-Mäder Joint Venture."
