Akzo Nobel Resins Announces Price Increase for all Coating Resins sold in North America

Published on 2004-09-13. Author : SpecialChem

Akzo Nobel Resins, Louisville KY, announced a price increase for all Coating Resins sold in North America, to be effective October 1, 2004. The increase will be approximately 8% and will affect all product lines. This substantial increase is the result of dramatic increases seen in the last three months for all major resin raw materials. These raw material increases have also been accompanied by a worsening supply situation that has included shortages, sales controls and more recently, allocation and supply reductions of acrylic monomers.

Further aggravating the situation is the fact that the resin industry has not been able to pass along the steady upward march in raw material costs that started and continued in 2003 and amazingly have continued in 2004.

Akzo Nobel Resins will continue to do everything possible to maintain supply and control costs to its customer base through these very difficult times.
