VINNAPAS® EF818

VINNAPAS® EF818 by Wacker is an APEO-free, formaldehyde-free, aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer with residual vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) at less than 0.05%. Exhibits scrub resistance, early water resistance and excellent thickener response with a number of different thickener types, including hydrophobically modified cellulosic (HMHEC), hydrophobic ethoxylated urethanes (HEUR) and hydrophobic alkali-swellable emulsions (HASE). It does not need a coalescing agent or plasticizer to achieve a low minimum film-forming temperature (MFFT) and a low glass transition temperature (Tg) which provides the polymer with a very low to no co-solvent demand for proper film formation. VINNAPAS® EF818 compared with conventional styrene acrylics can deliver additional raw material cost savings. It can be used as a replacement of conventional styrene acrylics. Applications include low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and low odor architectural coatings.
