Mixed ester of glycerol and rosin acids, a clear, yellow-brown solid resin. Used as a binder for production of coatings and printing inks. Exhibits solubility in aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons & esters, limited solubility with ketones and miscibility with nitrocellulose. Its shelf life is 12 months.
