Cyclohexanone formaldehyde resin. It is an unsaponifiable resin. Exhibits gloss, adhesiveness, leveling and increase in solid content. Possesses solubility in ketones, esters, glycol ether acetates, aromatic & chlorinated hydrocarbons. Also soluble in alcohols except methanol. Shows compatibility with nitrocellulose, benzyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated rubber, alkyd resins, pthallic resins, UF resins, polyvinyl butyryl resins, polyamide, polyurethane, phenol formaldehyde condensation resins and multitude of plasticizers. Used in the manufacture of nitro-, nail- and paper lacquers, for polishing lacquers and finishes for the surface treatment of wooden furniture and articles. Also used in heat seal-, primer- and base coatings. Applications in inks include varnishes, flexographic-, gravure-, lamination-, ball point- and offset inks while in coatings include nitrocellulose paints and gasoline resistant coatings.
