Pen-cote™ L800

Pen-cote™ L800 is a ready-to-use naturally derived binder by Ingredion. It is based on starch. Its design at the molecular level promotes optimal cross-linking to achieve high binder strength. It improves water holding by 40-50% with less binder migration for better coating for a better-looking sheet or board. It maintains gloss because more binder stays on the sheet surface rather than migrating into the sheet. The coating viscosity typically increases with the use of this material, which may reduce the need for a rheology modifier. It is suitable to extend synthetic latex binders in base-coat coating formulations with no loss in coating solids. Meets with FDA 21 CFR 176.170.
