DOWSIL™ US-CF 2403 Resin

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Dow
DOWSIL™ US-CF 2403 Resin by Dow is a methylmethoxy siloxane with methyl silsesquioxane. It is a solvent-less, low molecular weight reactive alkoxy-siloxane resin. Exhibits resistance to high heat, high hardness and stains. Provides an isocyanate-free, room temperature cure without the addition of tin. Possesses high reactivity and low surface energy. Offers low surface tension and good wetting properties. Improves physical performance of paints and coatings. Shows compatibility with itself, silver aluminum flakes and organic resins containing hydroxyl groups in presence of ambient moisture. Beneficial in showing low weight loss at high temperatures of cured films. It can be used in cases where flexibility is not a priority and ambient cure is an advantage. Used in clear and pigmented formulations for the protection of metals, glass and stones. Clear coats can also be applied to wood substrates including beech, oak, ash, mahogany, cherry and beech to prevent water uptake. Potential applications of DOWSIL™ US-CF 2403 Resin include coatings for ovens, wood-burning stoves, chemical processing units and industries. When catalyzed with titanates, it can be formulated into ambient tack-free coatings. Complies with OSHA, TSCA and EPA. It has a usable life of 24 months.
