Maleated rosin (fumarated rosin). It is made from gum rosin and maleic anhydride (or fumaric acid) followed by polymerization, stabilization and decolorization. Exhibits high melting point and good water stability. Easily soluble in esters, alcohols and petroleum solvents. Used in gravure inks.
