Mirrorgold 590 001 Rich gold by Eckart is a non-leafing bronze pigment. It can create a very bright mirror effect when used in solvent-based ink systems and printed reverse onto a high-quality film. It provides good rub resistance on almost all substrates. It exhibits good non-leafing properties that guarantee good spilled-proof and lamination properties as long as adhesion to the substrate is achieved. As with all metallic inks the substrate has an influence on the final result. Uneven substrates often cause poor pigment orientation resulting in inferior brilliance. In some cases, the use of primers to improve the substrate surface is advantageous. The adhesion depends on the surface properties of the selected substrate. It is suitable especially for the formulation of solvent-based gravure and screen-printing inks. Mirrorgold 590 001 Rich gold is also used for OPP, pre-treated PET, and PE printing.
