VELVETOL® H2000 by WeylChem International is 100% bio-based polyether polyol made with 1,3-propanediol (Bio-PDO). It is easy to handle, process & transport and has a significantly lower environmental footprint, saving 40% in non-renewable energy consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42% as proofed by an ISO 14000-compliant life cycle analysis. It offers low toxicity, low volatility, biodegradability and high thermal heat capacity. It exhibits hydrolysis resistance, high oxidative stability, low melting point, low viscosity and slow crystallization rates. It shows more resistance against acid & heat compared to PTMEG, outstanding color dispersion and chip resistance. It offers long durability in end use applications. It is suitable for high-performance coatings and ink-jet inks. Applications include automotive refinish, industrial metal coatings and PU dispersions in any or all of the coating layers. It provides excellent adhesion to metal in base coatings. VELVETOL® H2000 also provides increased flexibility and improved gravel & flake resistance when used as an additive in clear coatings.
