GENIOSIL® GF 56 by Wacker is a vinyltriethoxysilane. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristically aromatic odor. It hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture (ethanol is released) to form silanols, which can then react with themselves to produce siloxanes. GENIOSIL® GF 56 by Wacker is used in the production of silane-modified polymers that serve as binders in paints and anti-corrosive coatings.
