Allyl Methacrylate (AMA)

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BASF
Allyl Methacrylate (AMA) by BASF is a mono methacrylate monomer which has low viscosity liquid with dual allylic and methacrylic functionalities. It forms homopolymers and copolymers which can be prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides, and esters and with methacrylate, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters, and drying oils, etc. Allyl Methacrylate (AMA) imparts additional cross-linking sites, adhesion, chemical and heat resistance, impact strength, hardness low shrinkage, abrasion resistance and weatherability. It readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds, therefore is found to be useful in feedstock for chemical syntheses and is also an impact modifier for thermoplastic resins, and is employed to manufacture paints, coatings, and floor polishes.
