SILRES® WH

SILRES® WH by Wacker is a water thinnable, solvent-free, water-based emulsion of a functional silicone resin. Acts as a high quality water repellent and hydrophobizing wood impregnating agent. Exhibits excellent water resistance and offers protection against damp, moisture, cracks caused by swelling & shrinking and the subsequent damage caused by fungi, mildew and insects for an exceedingly long time. Provides a long-lasting beading effect and strong adherence to substrates with significant reduction of capillary water absorption, particularly after weathering. Shows no protection against degradation of lignin by UV radiation and accompanying graying (UV transparent). It helps in increasing the durability and longevity of coatings and minimizing all harmful effects caused by water uptake even in low concentrations. Suitable for use in for aqueous, film-forming wood stains and coatings used for outdoor purposes. Recommended usage level of SILRES® WH ranges between 1 and 3 %wt.
