LAPONITE® RD by Byk (Altana Group) is a synthetic layered silicate. Acts as a rheology modifier/ thickener. It is insoluble in water but hydrates and swells to give clear and colorless colloidal dispersions. Imparts a shear sensitive structure to a wide range of water-borne formulations. LAPONITE® RD is used in household and industrial surface coatings.
