CLAYTONE® 40

CLAYTONE® 40 by BYK is a rheological additive for non-polar to medium-polar coating systems. It also acts as a thixotropic thickener and anti-settling agent. It is easy to disperse and self-activating. It prevents sagging and settling in resin-based systems. It is used to increase the melt viscosity in powder coatings. It helps to reduce the gloss at higher dosage level. CLAYTONE® 40 is recommended for powder coatings based on epoxy, polyester, polyurethane and acrylate resins as well as polyester/epoxy combinations. It is used in architectural, industrial, wood and furniture coatings. Other applications include printing inks, coil and protective coatings. It is suitable for food contact coatings and printing inks. Its recommended dosage is 0.3-2% as additive for coatings and 0.5-2% as additive for powder coatings. Complies with REACH regulations.
