Zinc pyrithione or bis (2-pyridylthio) zinc 1, 1’-dioxide. Acts as an anti-fouling agent. Also acts as a bactericide as well as fungicide in the pH range from 4 to 10 and shows good stability. It is a low toxicity biocide liquid and friendly to environment. The static appearance of this grade for lower level is white to yellow precipitation and for upper level is colorless to light yellow clear liquid. Also its dynamic appearance is white to light yellow emulsion. It effectively inhibits the growth of pathogenic micro-organisms such as streptococcus, staphylococcus, fungi, yeast, mold and bacterial. AXCIDE FK-T is specially formulated as germicide for exterior high durable coating. Also used in ship corrosion-proof paints when it is combined with copper hemi oxide to prevent shells and marine plankton adhering to ship shell.
