ALKOMOL® L 408

Lauryl alcohol 4 EO / 8 PO. Acts as a surfactant, wetting agent as well as dispersing agent. It is non-ionic compound whose lipophilic portion of the molecule comes from fatty alcohol as well as propylene oxide, and the hydrophilic part from the addition of ethylene oxide. This structure gives it an excellent wetting properties and good detergency. Being low foam non-ionic, the need for anti-foams used in such preparations is reduced. Offers good dispersion properties and significant surface tension reduction power in aqueous solutions. Used in the manufacture of pigmented pastes, acrylic and vinylic latex paints. Also used in construction paint and pigment dispersion.
