Borchi® Gol LA 1

Polyether-modified polysiloxane in butyl glycol. Acts as a levelling agent. Contains 50% active. It lowers the surface tension of a wide range of formulated systems thereby improving flow and levelling. Inhibits the formation of surface defects like craters, pin holes and Bénard cells. Promotes higher gloss and less haze in cured finishes. Also promote improvements in surface slip and block resistance. Improves scratch, levelling and slip properties in air drying systems like water soluble alkyds, polyurethane and acrylic dispersions. Has good compatibility with chemically curing binders such as hydroxyl bearing acrylics and polyesters (e.g. Desmophen® from Bayer Material Science), polyester melamines and polyester isocyanates. Can be used in waterborne as well as solvent based decorative and industrial coatings. Also suitable for automotive, wood and furniture coatings. The recommended dosage is 0.1 to 0.3 % of the total weight of the formulation depending upon the binder system and which property is being addressed.
