® SR 107 by Momentive Performance Materials is a silicone additive used in the protective coatings industry as an antiflooding and anti-flotation agent in urethane coatings. Can also be used for improving water repellency of resin-based masonry paints. In auto polishes it imparts water repellency and detergent resistance. When used as an anti-flooding agent, SR107 silicone additive should first be cut to 2% silicone content in xylene, mineral spirits or conventional paint thinners. ® SR 107 should then be added to the formulation to obtain final silicone concentrations of up to 0.1% of total coating vehicle solids. To improve water repellency of resin-based masonry paints, 5% SR107 silicone additive content based on 'paint' vehicle solids should be used.
