Zn-PYRION™ B

Zinc-1-oxidopyridin-1-ium-2-thiolate. Is an anti-fouling and algicide biocide. Provides excellent protection against mold, yeast, bacteria and algae. It is highly effective antifouling agent for the control of soft fouling marine organisms such as seaweed and bacterial and diatom slimes. Used in antifouling coatings, it protects the underwater part of ship and boat hulls and static marine structures. It boosts protection against in-can spoilage, and may allow for reduction of in-can preservative levels. Due to its low water solubility, it is extremely suitable for applications where low leaching and long-term protection is required. Its recommended dosage level is 0.5% by weight. It is approved by the U.S. environmental protection agency (EPA) for marine antifouling applications.
