Omnicat BL 550 by IGM Resins is blend of 10-biphenyl-4-yl-2-isopropyl-9-oxo-9H-thioxanthen-10-ium hexafluorphosphate (20%) in propylene carbonate (25%) and (3-4-epoxycyclohexane) methyl3’-4’-epoxycyclohexyl-carboxylate (55%). Acts as a cationic photoinitiator. Designed for UV radiation curing system. Values of UV absorption are 220 and 280 nm. Omnicat BL 550 is recommended for use in flexographic and silk screen inks, overprint varnishes and plastic coating.
