A-C® 580 is an ethylene acrylic acid (EAA) copolymer by Honeywell. It contains an acrylic acid (AA) content of 10%. Its acid number of 75 aids emulsification. It is used in aqueous floor polishes to provide drag (raising the coefficient of friction) thereby controlling the final coefficient of friction. It is also used in solvent borne coatings to control rheology and provide metallic flake orientation. A-C® 580 finds application in automotive basecoats.
