Trimethylolpropane. It acts as a chain extender. Exhibits low melting point. Possesses strong ability to absorb moisture when exposed to atmosphere. Shows solubility in water, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and ether. Insoluble in fatty- and aromatic hydrocarbons. Offers compatibility with alkyd resins, saturated polyesters and polyurethanes. Used in pigment coatings.
