Tego® Wet 285

Technical DataSheet | Supplied by Evonik

TEGO® Wet 285 by Evonik is a 100% polyether siloxane copolymer. It is a very high molecular weight substrate wetting and anti-crater additive. It results in a particularly low tendency to migrate. This prevents the substances from penetrating the packaging and reaching the food. The pronounced reduction of surface tension that can be achieved with TEGO® Wet 285, paired with low foam stabilizing, enable the easy wetting of demanding substrates, such as films. It is solvent-free and liquid, which translates into easy handling. Especially suitable for non-absorbent, waterborne, clear coat and pigmented substrates as well as for primer/basecoat, topcoat lacquer coat. It is partially suitable for solventborne systems. It is specifically developed for printing on food packaging. Recommended addition level is 0.1-1.0%. TEGO® Wet 285 is listed on AICS, DSL, ECL, EINECS, ENCS, IECSC, PICCS, TSCA, NZIOC and TCSI chemical inventories. It is also listed on the A lists of the Swiss Ordinance 817.023.21, Annex 6.
